iPhone 4G Apple iPad and Now Apple iPad Mini

iPhone 4G, the expected 2010 model of iPhone is still not down with daily speculations and updates. It is known that few days back Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs had announced a new operating system, OS4 for iPhone 2010. The new operating system, iPhone 0S 4 is supposed to change the entire look of iPhone in terms of software and user interface. While discussions about iPhone 4G are still on, and the new speculation made its way about iPad Mini. Is Apple preparing to launch an iPad mini with slashed price? Let’s have a deeper look at Apple iPad mini concept.


iPad mini concept somehow came out in news when a mobile research analyst hinted that Apple could release the scaled down version of iPad by next year. He claimed that
he got this information from component manufacturing industry circles. As per the reports, iPad mini is going to have a much smaller screen and the different chip. So, iPad obviously is going to come in much cheaper price than the present version. Apple is reportedly is thinking about presenting a portable version of Apple iPad which already is a portable tablet!

May be Apple is looking to develop an all in one product like iPad, which can easily fit in pockets and is easy to carry. iPad as we all know has a bigger LCD screen of 9.7 inch display. So the speculated iPad might come with a 5 to 7 inches. This mini versionof iPad is going to target the users who are serious about portability of iPad. Also the slashed price for iPad would be an added bonus. The iPad mini is most likely to be priced under 400$ or even lesser. Also the brand of the Apple iPad is rumored to be Apple ‘Q1’.


iPhone 4G is coming this summer as an update for iPhone 3Gs. iPhone too is going to feature the A4 chip which is already used in iPad. Surely the Apple iPad mini is not going to have a A4 chip. The A4 chip and the large display in iPad cost half of the total price. With this we expect iPad mini might not have any mind blowing features! But Apple is said to be making their efforts to cash on ‘portability’ factor thus making iPad mini a better user eBook reader or a web browser. This light versionof iPad may risk the survival of iPod touch, but looks like Apple have their own plans.

Finally got around to replacing the digitizing screen on the iPhone 3G …

I showed the shattered glass a while ago, and I ordered the replacement screen at that time. It arrived in a week and I found that it did not include the sticky stuff that holds the screen to the plastic frame that holds the LED panel.

So … I ordered that a month later from a separate vendor on eBay in Canada and received that about a week later. I waited again for a long time because I know what a hassle this job is, but I finally decided to tackle it this evening.

It has the excellent 3M sticky bits on it waiting to have the treated cardboard barrier removed for the glass. The new digitizer is still in the bubble wrap sitting below the old smashed digitizer. Just beyond the main case.

The steel dish you see in the foreground is magnetic. These are available in dollar stores for a couple of bucks and you really want one of these to catch all the tiny screws that would be otherwise lost.

The various tools occupying the rest of the place mat are those that I have received over the last few years rebuilding various iPods and iPhones. The plastic tools are rib spreaders case tools for separating the case from the plastic holder for the LED screen and digitizer.

My favorite tool is the suction cup. I got two of these form various sources and they work great to get the digitizer / led screen assembly out of the case once the two tiny screws are removed.

I also recommend that you keep a laptop next to you so you can review the procedure as you go. I watched as I went, rewinding off and on. I can tell you form bitter experience that you want to be slow and careful and do what they do on the video. No brain farts and no assumptions, else you will brick the LED or the phone itself.

Anyway, to make a long story short(er), I assembled it all and it would not come on. Shit! So I took the top assembly out again and did this another 10 times. Along the way, I noted that the phone was actually on, since the silence switch buzzed as normal. But that does not help when you cannot see anything.

After finally deciding that the wiring was perfect, I fully assembled the phone one more time and looked up a video on hard reset. (Again with the handy laptop.) I watched the young lady go through the motions (hold the power button and the home button together for 6 to 10 seconds.) And when I tried it on the phone, I got the Apple logo! Dang if it didn’t work.

And as you can see, it synchronizes perfectly. The “no sim” on the top left of the screen forced me to remove it and reseat it again. The network came right up when I did that.

So … don’t be afraid. Order the parts from eBay vendors (of course you should always check their ratings) and you too can have what feels exactly like a brand new phone once more. For reasons I do not understand, the phone is fast again. I’m betting that the broken digitizer was flooding it with spurious signals off and on.

I was invited to the iPhone 4S launch by Globe last night held at the Ayala Museum. It was not a grand launch. The launch was just right -- party, food, booze, entertainment and the product itself. There were no lavish raffles and giveaway to attract people and subscribers. It's just the way I expected a product launch would be. Globe had no raffle that night to the attendees and customers.

DiGi iPhone 4 Me

A big WHY I want an iPhone 4 from DiGi??? First, I am going to tell you why I want and iPhone 4.

From the picture above, you can see my right hand was holding my Casio Ex-v7 digital camera, my lousy low spec nokia 2630 handphone and my mp3 player. My left hand was holding my Asus EEE 701 netbook. My Nokia 2630 handphone has built-in 0.3 megapixel with 640 x 480 pixels resolution camera only, thats why I need to bring a digital camera to capture every special and wonderful moment when I am outing. I am running online global business, my handphone dont have Wi-Fi, cannot connect to internet, thats why I need to bring netbook/laptop when I am outing in case the clients/suppliers/business partners call me to online immediately. I am a musician, I cannot live without music, my handphone has 11mb storage only, 11mb is enough to save 2 songs only, sad!! Thats why I need to bring along a mp3 player with 2gb storage to keep all my favorite songs when I am outing. Sometime my pant has not enough pockets to keep my digital camera, handphone and mp3 player, dont forget I also need to keep my wallet, my card holder and my car keys into the pockets. Although I can put them all into the same pocket but they will be scratched by each other. Can you see it is so inconvenient for me to carry along all those things when I am outing???



If I have an iPhone 4, I dont need to carry mp3 player anymore because iPhone 4 has 16gb storage to keep my song, Oh My Goodness!!! Furthermore, if I have an iPhone 4, I dont need to carry a netbook/laptop anymore because iPhone 4 has Wi-Fi which allow me connect to the Internet, on my msn messenger, allows me to browse websites, allow me download files from emails and able to read various file formats such as .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word), .pdf (Adobe Acrobat), .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint), .txt (notepad), .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel), with all this features of iPhone 4, I can do my online business at any where already, Fuyooooo!!! Moreover, if I have an iPhone 4, I dont need to carry a digital camera anymore anymore because iPhone 4 has built-in 5 megapixel with 2592 x 1944 pixels resolution camera which has 5 x digital zoom and it even has high-definition quality video recording feature, it has LED flash light too, graphic designer will get more customers if I have an iPhone 4 because the customers need to edit their photos to cover their big pores/acne/scars on their skin, haha. Besides that, I am crazy about gaming, I plan to buy a PSP recently, if I have an iPhone, I no longer need to buy a PSP since iPhone has 1ghz processor with 512ram which can allow me install and play a lot of my favorite games in smooth speed!!! My Asus EEE PC 701 netbook even has 900mhz processor only, iPhone has 1ghz!! WOW!!! So, just an iPhone 4 already can replace my mp3 player, my digital camera, my netbook, my nokia 2630 handphone and PSP, WOW WOW WOW!!!


Everytime I hang out with my friends, I always see they show off their luxury handphone to each other. When we are eating together on the same table, my friends always take out their handphone to exchange songs, video and software, I am the only 1 cannot do that, I jealous my friends, and I am so shy to show them my lousy handphone. I even off the handphone ringtone, when there is an incoming call, I will walk far away from my friends to pick up the call so that my friends cannot see my RM200 lousy Nokia 2630 cheap handphone.


If I have an iPhone 4, I will no longer need to hide my handphone, I even can show off it to all my friends, YEAH!!!


Furthermore, I am a graphic designer, I very care about visual effect. I am a perfectionist, I have to admit that I am greedy, I want to have a perfect and the clearest display screen for me to view pictures and video, but too bad I am poor (it is because my parents are old and their medical fees are very expensive), I cant afford to buy a plasma TV or a 24 inch high definition monitor, I cant even afford to buy an iPhone 4 which has the highest-resolution Retina Display screen, how sad?!! Seriously I really really really wish to win a free iPhone 4 from Digi. Why must Digi? It is because of Yellow.
